BC Hockey Academy Hosted By VRC A Success
2007-08-27
Two weeks of BC Hockey Academy have come to a close at both VRC and Oak Bay Recreation.Over 300 players from Victoria, around the Island and BC took part in Victoria's first BC Hockey Academy.
A thank you for our on-ice and off-ice instructors and team leaders for helping make the BC Hockey Academy a huge success. VRC would like to recognize the efforts of our two on-ice Lead Instructors, Jeff Compton and Brent Polischuk, as well as the off-ice instructor's from Compton Sports Training Systems.
We also thank all assistant on-ice instructors including VRC's Don Robinson, and the Victoria Salmon King's Wes Goldie, Ash Goldie, Kiel McLeod, Paul Ballantyne and Bryan Bridges.
The BC Hockey Academy Introduction to Hockey and Initiation Session was coached by VRC's Jeff Kerr, assisted by another VRC Coach Mike Gamble. Thank you to Jeff and Mike for their dedication to the young stars of tomorrow.
A highlight for many of the players at BC Hockey Academy was the opportunity to learn from, and meet the many Guest Instructors that donated their time to BC Hockey Academy. A thank you to Matt Pettinger, Geoff Courtnall, Justin Courtnall, Clayton Stoner, Taylor Ellington, Ryan O'Byrne and many others.
BC Hockey Academy would not have been possible without the involvement of many volunteers of VRC, and without to support of the entire Victoria Racquet Club association.
